Hi Julie, and everyone!!! no call back from the nurses yet. My hubbs appt is Wednesday thanks for asking Julie. I have called about a private consult, its going to cost £200, and I can have appt within a week. Havent told hubby that part yet!!! Will discuss it and see what we think, it is rather more than I had hoped though. Its so hard to know what to do, as I need help, but its hard to know what to do for the best. BARBARA

Try ringing the nurse before it gets too late Barbara - they did tell you she would call today (mine sometimes call beginning or end of clinic) so giving them a quick reminder won't hurt. You deserve better than this.

This is expensive but then you're in London aren't you? I have paid up to £190 but that was for two hours! LOL
Presently I pay much less but have to pay for any injections and x rays.
Love, Amanda
PS; Have replied!

Hi Julie and Amanda, I did calll the nurses line again, and left another msg, but nothing so far, that was around 2 o'clock. Dont expect them to call now, it may be tomorrow, but I work from Sam's house tomorrow, so hopefully they will use my mobile number, but who knows!!! Have spoken to Roy about the consult, and he says it is ok so long as they actually do something, in other words meds that work!! lol Anyway still thinking about it at the moment, but feeling very let down by NHS thats for sure BARBARA

Hi all, I have been quite poorly now for 8/9 days, I arranged to come off my hydroxy because of the side effects, so now I have started to get the old swelling etc back, very painful it is too. Point I want to make is I phoned my rheumy nurse this morning they replied after lunch, result, I have an appointment for Monday. I have sometimes thought that they could be better but after reading the problems other people have they appear very efficient. I can also say that my GP has no problem increasing my steroid if and when required. I did tell him that the consultant was not very pleased but he told me that he was my primary carer and the decision was his.
John.

Hi everyone, John you are very lucky!! you have a really good team, and obviously a really good GP too. I think its safe to say mine definitely arent!!! Still no call back from my phone call yesterday. Have given up now, even if Lorna isnt available it would only be polite to call and let me know. BARBARA
